The Komodo FXP by KAYA Instruments streams high resolution images over up to 10 km in single-mode. In multi-mode, distances up to 400 meters can be covered. The system receives up to 4 video streams from CoaXPress devices in single, dual or quad mode. Images can be captured simultaneously. Each channel can run at bitrates up to 6.25 Gbps. Applications are industrial, defense and aerospace machine vision. The components are a Komodo Fiber frame grabber and CoaXPress to Fiber module. CoaXPress links are converted to fiber optic at the remote end. DMA video is transmitted to the host computer with low latency via PCIe Gen3 x 8. GPIO is onboard for machine control signals, including triggers, shaft encoders, exposure control and general I/O. Video stream acquisition is in parallel. This range extender is plug-and-play, requiring no configuration. Temperature operating range is 0 °C to 50 °C. Data rates are up to 6.25 Gbps per link, and transfer is up to 60 Gbps.
