Komodo FXCL – CameraLink Frame Grabber with Extended Range over Fiber

The Komodo FXCL by KAYA Vision streams high resolution images over up to 10 km in single-mode. In multi-mode, distances up to 400 meters can be covered. Applications are industrial, defense and aerospace machine vision. The components are a Komodo Fiber frame grabber and CameraLink to Fiber module. CameraLink full / 80 bit Decas supported with Power over Cameralink (PoCL) and onboard image processing (DeBayer, FCC, etc). CameraLink interfaces are converted to fiber optic at the remote end. DMA video is transmitted to the host computer with low latency via PCIe Gen3 x 8. GPIO is onboard for machine control signals, including triggers, shaft encoders, exposure control and general I/O. Video stream acquisition is in parallel. This range extender is plug-and-play, requiring no configuration.

The Device-Side of this system serves as a Camera Link to Camera Link High Speed Signal Converter (CL-CLHS).

The Komodo FXCL acquisition system supports multiple modes of configuration and system topology. Few of these are presented in following diagrams.
