The Komodo FXP by KAYA Instruments streams high resolution images over up to 10 km in single-mode. In multi-mode, distances up to 400 meters can be covered. Applications are industrial, defense and aerospace machine vision. The components are a Komodo Fiber frame grabber and CameraLink to Fiber module. CameraLink full / 80 bit Decas supported with Power over Cameralink (PoCL) and onboard image processing (DeBayer, FCC, etc). CameraLink interfaces are converted to fiber optic at the remote end. DMA video is transmitted to the host computer with low latency via PCIe Gen3 x 8. GPIO is onboard for machine control signals, including triggers, shaft encoders, exposure control and general I/O. Video stream acquisition is in parallel. This range extender is plug-and-play, requiring no configuration.
